Impact Councils
Have you ever felt you really understood the problems in your community, but there was no forum for you to get involved and make a difference? Now there is an opportunity…
Partnering with business leaders, citizens, and agencies from across the community, UWCC is forming four Community Impact Councils around the areas of School Readiness, Youth Engagement, Financial Stability and Healthy Lifestyles. If you have a passion for parental involvement in early learning, teen pregnancy, preparedness for college and employment, financial literacy or obesity, UWCC wants your voice and ideas at the table.
These Community Impact Councils are at the core of United Way’s work and mission. Community Impact Councils will address these issues through advocacy, leveraging resources, and volunteerism.
“I am really looking forward to brining people together in innovative ways,” says Jennifer Moreland, Director of Community & Resource Development. “Too often organizations and individuals work in isolation of one another when we share a common purpose.”
