Background:
United Way of Calvert County (UWCC) is launching a new strategic direction to make lasting changes in the community. This past year,UWCC brought community leaders together to identify most pressing issues, and their underlying causes. The end result was a sharpened focus on Education, Income and Health, recognizing that these are the basics anyone living in Calvert County needs for a good life. With the guidance and input of local leaders in business, government and non-profits, UWCC identified some key areas where the entire community could work together to make an impact: School Readiness, Youth Engagement, Financial Stability, and Healthy Lifestyles. Through the Request for Proposal, UWCC is providing a five-year commitment to fund programs supporting strategies in these areas.
