How Does Women’s Initiative Make An Impact?
Women’s Initiative invests donors’ funds in three different areas affecting the lives of women and children in Calvert County.
Early Childhood
In Calvert County, over 5% of families with children under 5 years old live in poverty. This is an urgent problem—one that will not improve unless we invest in healthy early child development and education.
Healthy Girls
It is essential that young girls receive the education, tools, and resources necessary for them to make healthier decisions as they transition from girlhood into womanhood.
Women’s Economic Empowerment
Addressing women’s economic empowerment is a central theme in improving lives for women in our communities. It lifts the soul of our families, and it touches all women at their core.
How Can You Be A Part of Women’s Initiative?
Join the Women’s Initiative Leadership Council
Leadership Council members see firsthand how their dollars are spent with the ability to vote and support key women’s issues through the mini grant process. When you make a gift of $500 or more, you are eligible to join the Women’s Leadership Council, furthering the Initiative efforts of achieving lasting change.
Become a Friend of the Women’s Initiative
Women who volunteer (contribute their time & talent ) on a committee, special event or project of the Women’s Initiative are recognized as a Friend. There are special events, fundraisers, seminars and collection drives throughout the year that offer
